Particularly in the western districts of province, an underground water source on the spot is now available for the whole region. However, in the long term, it is necessary to build the Hiep Duc water plant, to build a pipeline to transfer water from Dong Tam water plant to some communes in Chau Thanh district and to dill for additional water supply to individual stations in the area. In addition, Tien Giang province will upgrade and consolidate the quality of 57 poorly-run water supply stations, and organize new wells to replacing 27 former arsenic-contaminated stations, 3 contaminated iron stations and 2 salinity contaminated stations in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan urged the units to quickly implement measures to overcome the current shortage of water quality. He also asked functional agencies to coordinate with local authorities to regularly check the water quality, ensuring people to have enough clean water quality for daily life.
