ABO - On November 28, the Tien Giang provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program proclaimed three new rural commune including An Cu commune of Cai Be district, Vinh Kim commune of Chau Thanh district and Tan Phu commune of Cai Lay district.

Implementing the national target program on building new rural areas, the average per capita income of An Cu commune is over VND 44 million per person; the poverty rate drops to 3.47%. The material and spiritual life of people in An Cu commune has been improved; the rural transport infrastructure has been upgraded and built; agricultural economy shifted in the right direction with sustainable development on the basis of bringing into play the potential and advantages of the locality, many models of growing fruit and fruit effectively promoted, etc…

After five years of building new rural areas, Vinh Kim commune has completed 19 criteria; the poverty rate drops to 3.2%.  Highlights are electric system, roads, schools, stations built spacious, synchronous; the material and spiritual life of the people raised. The average income per capita reaches nearly VND 45 million/person/year; the percentage of people participate in health insurance reaches 90.89%; the number of people employed is over 94.2%, etc…

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee of Tien Giang awarded the emulation flag and welfare project worth VND 1 billion to each commune.
