The "Traffic safety for children" project in My Tho city with the sponsorship of the Botnar Foundation through the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Association, Global Road Traffic Association and the support of the Child Relief Organization, was implemented in 2 years, from 2018 to 2020. The project aims to reduce the rate of child casualties due to road traffic accidents in the school area in My Tho city.

According to the report of the Tien Giang Committee for Traffic Safety, in 2018, the province occurred 355 traffic accidents, killing 227 people and injuring 192 people, in which traffic accidents involving children occurred 27 cases, killing 14 children and injuring 15 children.

Participants focused on discussing and assessing the situation of advantages and disadvantages in teaching traffic safety, training needs and other support for management and teaching staff, etc... aiming at defining the needs and orientations of traffic safety teaching to contribute to improving the quality of teaching traffic safety in primary schools in the coming time.
