ABO - Facing the complicated situation of droughts and saline intrusion, Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee Le Van Huong and leaders of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development came to inspect the prevention drought in Go Cong town and Go Cong Dong district, on February 9.

Checking at the pumping stations of Go Xoai - My Xuan - Muon Nghiep canal, Tan Trung commune, Go Cong town, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong praised the active and concentrated work of the leaders of Go Cong town in the prevention of drought in the area. Up to the present time, the water source is guaranteed.

He suggested that the local authority continue to propagate among the people to take initiative in saving the water source in production and daily life as well as not disposing of garbage to ensure environmental sanitation water sources.

* In Go Cong Dong district, the delegation checked at the inter-field canals of Tan Phuoc commune. Currently, the amount of water on the canal and rice fields is quite large. The current amount of water stored on the river and in the field is a good signal under the current drought and saltwater intrusion.

Chairman of the PPC also asked leaders of districts and towns to proactively work out plans to cope with salty drought in the near future, while strengthening information for farmers to coordinate with the agricultural sector in regulating water for production.
