Winners of 2022 Literature Awards announced
ABO/NDO- The Vietnam Writers’ Association announced the winners of the 2022 Literature Awards in the categories of poetry-prose, theory and critics, translation, and children’s literature on February 15.
Author Ly Lan won the prose category for the novel ‘Buu Son Ky Huong’ while poets Tran Le Khanh and Nguyen Bao Chan won the poetry category for their works ‘Ngan bai tho khac’ and ‘Bong của y chi’ respectively.
Translator Nguyen Huu Dung was named winner in the translation category for his translation of the novel “Knights of the Cross” by Author Henryk Sienkiewicz.
In the children’s category, writer Trung Sy was honoured for the novel ‘Thung lung Dong Vang’.
Meanwhile, the theory and critics category saw no winning works.

The Vietnam Writers’ Association received 161 nominations in 2022, including 50 prose works, 61 poetryworks, 14 theory and critics works, 19 translation worksand 17 children’s works, a decrease of 55 works compared to 2021.
In addition, the Impressive Female Writer Award 2022 went to Nguyen Bich Lan (Hanoi) and Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa (Ninh Thuan). The two female writers have sharedthe same illness since childhood and have both rose up against adversity and made many contributions to the community.
Writer Nguyen Bich Lan translated 52 books and has fourworks written for children while Writer Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa has published 14 books, including seven for children.Hoa was voted by Forbes Vietnam as one of the 20 inspirational Vietnamese women in 2021.
Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu said that the association worked to select allworthy works transparently. All the works feature humanity and beauty, discovering and spreading the value of life, he noted.
