The organising board also presented special awards to other beauties at the contest, including the Best in Swimsuit, Best National Costume, Best in Evening Gown, Country’s Power of the Year, Grand Voice Award, and Miss Grand Vote.
Entering the Top 10, Phuong and the other nine beautys competed in the speech competition, in which they were requested to deliver presentations on ending war and violence, and calling for peace and solidarity among countries around the world.
In her speech, the Vietnamese representative shared the pain and loss of children born in war and of the millions of people who are homeless and whose families have been separated in conflicts. She called to resolve conflicts with dialogue, not with guns.
“Let our children know how beautiful peace is, and please return peace to humanity. Stop the war,” she said.
