President and CEO of US Semiconductor Industry Association visits Saigon Hi-Tech Park

ABO/NDO- Head of Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) Nguyen Anh Thi hosted a reception on December 8 for President and CEO of the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) John Neuffer, along with representatives of Intel, Synopsys, Ampere Computing and Marvell.

During the visit, the US delegation toured Intel Vietnam's factory and the Electronics and Semiconductor Centre (ESC), where they visited two IC design training classes on the EDA software tool platform of Sysnopsys and Cadence. President and CEO John Neuffer spoke highly of this training model because it is essential in the development of the field of semiconductors.

With a strategic location of traffic connections, complete infrastructure, flexible incentive policies, and especially the advantage of high-quality human resources, the SHTP is considered a good choice for semiconductor companies to establish research and design centres and packaging and testing factories.

The meeting opened up great prospects for cooperation, investment, and development of the semiconductor industry for Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, where the SHTP plays a pioneering role.

By June 2022, the SHTP attracted 160 valid projects. There are 70 high-tech manufacturing projects, 18 high-tech service projects, 21 research and development (R&D) projects, nine training projects and 23 high-tech supporting industry projects.

After more than 20 years of operation, the city's Saigon Hi-Tech Park has created a favourable environment to attract high-tech projects from corporations and companies that own reputable source technology in the world, such as Intel, Nidec, Jabil, Sanofi, Datalogic, etc.
