The statement was made by Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at a conference held by the Party Central Committee (PCC) Inspection Commission in Hanoi on January 23, to review the inspection and supervision work in 2018 and revise tasks for 2019.

Addressing the event, NA Chairwoman Ngan praised the outstanding results gained in the inspection, supervision and discipline work of the Party in the past year, contributing to preventing and repelling the recession of political ideology, ethics, lifestyles, and the manifestation of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” among officials and Party members, as well as fighting against corruption and wastefulness.

She also asked the agencies concerned to frankly and seriously point out their limitations and shortcomings in the inspection and supervision work.

The NA leader noted that Party members, regardless of their positions, must receive strict punishments if they make irregularities.

Relevant agencies need to focus on comprehensively inspecting the organisational and personnel works in preparation for the Party congress of all levels, while supervising and inspecting officials with the manifestation of corruption as well as officials at all levels and those who are planned to take leadership and management positions.

The senior legislator expressed her belief that, with the high determination of the Party and State, the inspection and supervision work will continue to witness more positive results and stronger progress, contributing to building a cleaner and stronger Party and State, as well as meeting the requirements of the revolutionary cause and the people’s expectations.
