The government leader inspected the mausoleum area and worked with the management board on August 14.

According to the management, regular maintenance was carried out from June 15 to August 14. Itis the second time that the memorial has undergone an upkeep in summer, instead of autumn as in previous years.

The management of the mausoleum stated that summer maintenance is appropriate because it does not affect state visits during major national holidays and public visits during seasons with good weather.

Speaking after the inspection, the PM praised the management’s maintenance time rescheduling and its efforts to ensure progress and high quality of the maintenance work in order to better serve visitors and the people.

He asked the management to continue organising activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament and make greater efforts to preserve the body of the founder of modern Vietnam safely and in the long run.

In the first six months of 2019, the mausoleum management welcomed about 1.2 million visits and provided water and bread to visitors free of charge on important occasions.

According to the management, the body of President Ho Chi Minh is currently preserved in a good state and the technical equipment system of the mausoleum is working with absolute reliability.

On the occasion, the management also proposed building an underground car park in the area to serve the people and international visitors paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
