To speed the progress of building a new rural district, Chairman of the PPC urged

ABO - Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong has just chaired a meeting on February 25 to discuss solutions to speed up the implementation of new rural district criteria for Go Cong Dong district and Cho Gao district and completing to build new rural construction tasks for Cai Lay town and Go Cong town in 2020.

According to the report, Go Cong Dong district has 10/11 communes recognized as meeting the new national standards, reaching 90 percent and reaching 6/9 criteria of new rural districts by the end of February 2020. The remaining three criteria include planning, transport and health - culture – education to be completed in May 2020 as expected.

For Cho Gao district, up to now, 100 percent of the communes have been recognized as meeting the new rural national standards and reaching 6 out of 9 new rural district criteria. Three criteria have not been achieved such as: planning, environment and health - culture - education, which are expected to be completed before June 2020.

Go Cong town has so far 6/7 communes recognized to meet the new rural national standards and the last new rural commune as Binh Xuan is expected in early March 2020 in order to complete adjust the dossier to submit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for evaluation to fulfill the task of building a new countryside.

Particularly in Cai Lay town, up to now, 8 out of 10 communes have been recognized as meeting new national rural standards. The remaining two communes as Tan Hoi and My Hanh Dong are expected to launch new rural communes before April 2020.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked localities to continue focusing on leadership and administration to accelerate the completion of the remaining criteria.

It is necessary to focus on speeding up the basic construction, environmental landscape, ensuring security and order, especially preparing well all plans, solutions and promptly handling arising issues to meet new rural districts and complete the task of building a new countryside on time as registered.
