ABO - On March, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Nghia and related sectors of the province checked the work of supplying clean water for the dry season in 2020 in the eastern region.

The delegation checked the concentrated water intake at Tan Phuoc commune and Gia Thuan commune, Go Cong Dong district, with the ability to provide 120m3 per day from BOO Dong Tam for people.

According to the actual survey, the water source at the taps as well as the water quality at the gathering points are quite strong, basically ensuring water supply for daily activities of local people in dry and drought conditions.

The delegation also visited the location of the land of over 6,000m2 in hamlet 3, Gia Thuan commune and an available storage water pond in hamlet 6, Tan Phuoc commune in order to have a plan to invest in new pond, dredging and renovating to meet the need for storage and supply of daily-life water for people, especially in the dry seasons of coming years.

For Go Cong Tay district, up to now, the district has arranged over 12 public faucets, 29 water jars with a capacity of 2 m3 water per each in Long Vinh commune, Vinh Huu commune, Binh Tan commune, Long Binh commune and Dong Thanh commune to provide daily-life water for people in difficult conditions during the dry season 2020.

Vice Chairman of the PPC Le Van Nghia suggested the local authorities of Go Cong Dong district and Go Cong Tay district to review the public land ponds in the area so that they have a reasonable plan in dredging new investment to store and negotiate a part of water supply to people in the area, especially in the dry season.
