Over 83% of Tien Giang province population covered by health insurance

As of December 31, 2018, the province had 1,470,696 people enrolled in health insurance, an increase of 69,060 people compared to the end of 2017; 83% of the provincial population (2018 population as 1,772,076 people), exceeding 1.7% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister.

Compared to the target of health insurance coverage assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, all 11 districts, cities and towns met and exceeded targets. However, compared with the average coverage of the whole country (88.5%), Tien Giang province ranked 59/63 provinces and cities.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Duc proposed that the branches and levels continue to promote propaganda and direct dialogue with enterprises on the meaning of social insurance, health insurance and rights policies benefit when participating, to raise awareness of observance, mobilize enterprises to participate in health insurance for existing employees. At the same time, ensuring funding from the budget to close and support health insurance premiums for the subjects as prescribed.

In addition, the Tien Giang province Department of Health needs to be interested in well organizing medical examination and treatment, increasing the satisfaction of patients with health insurance examination and treatment facilities, etc…

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 14 collectives and 27 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing health insurance coverage targets for 2018 in Tien Giang province.
