Besides, the program "Bright eyes for the elderly" held a screening for eye diseases for 8,149 elderly, treating eye diseases for 2,120 elderly and free cataract surgery for 438 elderly with more than 424 million VND. In addition, the Committee of the Elderly assignment all levels has supported the construction of houses for 193 poor households with difficult circumstances (cost of 3.6 billion VND); 100% of the elderly were eligible for social assistance policies.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc proposed the Committee of the Elderly assignment at all levels to study and organize cultural and sports clubs for the elderly to be scientific and suitable for each age group. Relevant sectors implement needed the integration of elderly support activities into annual plans.

The health sector continued to strengthen commune health stations to ensure good implementation of people's health care in the elderly; completing the Faculty of Elderly and implementing the priority regimes for the elderly in medical examination and treatment.
